Platanitos Turtle Camp
A visit to our government-operated turtle sanctuary, Platanitos Turtle Camp, is an experience that you will remember for the rest of your life. Witness the beginning of life as these tiny baby turtles hatch their way into the world and begin their journey back to the ocean, their new home. It is one of the most incredible experiences one can enjoy while in the Riviera Nayarit - possibly the best! If you have always wanted to witness the magic of hatching and sea turtles, Mexico is the place to do it. Our experienced hatchery staff patrols the beach and harvests the eggs of Olive Ridley Sea Turtles every year, between July and December. There is a Small donation required of 10 USD per day per person. Booking is available on site with Turtle camp staff.
Baby Turtle Release
Everyone can join in this remarkable experience of releasing baby turtles safely back to the ocean. Our sea turtle conservation protects these little ones on a daily basis while they are waiting to hatch. Once the hatching begins, everyone, including family and friends can help make their journey back to their home a safe one.
