Activities on Land

Miles of pristine beach, lush tropical forests, mangoves teeming with birds and vast palm groves are all inviting spaces to explore on land.

El Cora Waterfall:

El Cora Waterfall is one of the Riviera Nayarit's best kept secrets. Located in the mountains less than two hours from Villa Tortuga, El Cora makes a perfect day trip. The trip is most rewarding during November through March when the waterfalls are at their finest. This trip involves a small hike to the falls themselves.

La Tovara Jungle Cruise:

An estuary cruise among the mangroves. You can see native and migrating birds, some from as far away as Africa. You may see other wildlife including crocodiles, and if you are lucky, maybe even a jaguar.

El Cora and La Tovara are both great photo opportunites, but closer to home, the surroundings of Playa Las Tortugas teem with wildlife and abound in ocean views, stunning landscapes and breathtaking sunsets.

Horseback riding:
Rent horses and gallop along miles of unspoiled beach.
